Digital Media Intern -General Description
If you’re a great writer and digital media whiz, come join a fun and dynamic team of museum professionals who are working to preserve the dynamic history and unique culture of the Czech and Slovak people.
Help us build relationships on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook; write and edit online stories, produce, edit and publish digital video and audio; and conduct research about best online practices.
This internship position is an excellent opportunity for students looking to pursue a career in public relations, marketing and communications, as well as those interested in entering the field of cultural, museum or nonprofit organizations. Hours are flexible, 10 - 15 hrs/week. Telecommuting for out-of-town students can be negotiated.
Basic Qualifications
Communications or Marketing majors with an emphasis on digital media preferred. Must possess communications skills with keen attention to detail and editing; excellent computer skills, including experience using Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for professional purposes; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; a proven track record of prioritizing and completing multiple assignments and a self-starter that is able to work both independently and within a team setting. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, basic digital video editing and video equipment a plus. This position reports directly to the director of marketing and communications.
Candidates must:
• Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Have completed freshman year
• Currently be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate school
