Position Open: Director
Linn County Historical Society DBA Carl & Mary Koehler History Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa
The position is responsible for the overall operation of an historical society museum serving a metropolitan area of 200,000 people. The History Center includes an exhibits area of 15,000 square feet, an archive and research library, and a collections area of $20,000 square feet. Cedar Rapids is the second largest city in Iowa and has an excellent quality of life, with an abundance of educational and cultural opportunities.
Qualifications: a four-year degree in business management or museum studies is preferred. A minimum of three years of nonprofit administrative experience including development, programming, and budgeting would be highly valued. Demonstrated competence in management of a diverse staff and volunteers is also desirable.
Salary and benefits: Salary from $45,000 annually depending on qualifications plus benefits package.
