The Ankeny Art Center is composed of 2 art galleries, classrooms and offices. It supports the art of local artists and offers art classes to children and adults. The Art Center also hosts several fundraisers each year, including a Green Festival in June, an art auction and party in September, as well as a craft fair in November which hosts over 350 vendors.
The Ankeny Art Center is looking for 1 intern for each of our 3 work seasons.
Fall: mid –Sept- mid-Dec
Spring: mid Jan-beg May
Summer: last week of May –mid August

HOURS: 3-9 hrs per week during gallery hours
Gallery Hours are 9-1 Tues-Friday, Thurs evening 4-7pm, and Sat 9-12 noon.
UNPAID POSITION
DUTIES: Interns are important to our organization. They will hang shows, help set up art receptions for the artists, learn how to run a major art event and promote our programs. The director, Barbara Vaske has managed art galleries in Iowa and Los Angeles and has a national exhibition record for her art. Interns will learn professionalism and career direction for their own portfolios as part of their internship.
