Maureen Korte is a professional storyteller who travels world wide to learn about folklore, myth, and legend. She tells stories from every genre to every age and culture.
She uses a variety of theatrical aspects in her story performance such as costume, accent, dialogue, sign language, paper cutting and folding, music and audience participation.
Maureen has experience in story performance, acting, writing plays, and researching historical events to be depicted through the stage. Formerly the Education Manager for the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines, Maureen came to the Iowa State Historical Museum to initiate theater in the Museum Education Program.
