The museum is located in the newly restored historic city hall in Polk City, Iowa. The building was built in 1863 as the Big Creek School House. Polk City bought the building in 1894 to use as city hall. Portions of the building still serve in that capacity. The building was placed on the Register of Historic Places in 2004. Restoration of the entire second floor, exterior and a protion of the first floor was completed in early 2009. A grand old building overlooking the town square in Polk City, Iowa!
