Urbandale, IA - Living History Farms will host a Farmers Market for the second year fulfilling the mission of telling the story of the changes in Midwestern agriculture and rural life. The Farmers Market will be held on the front grounds every Wednesday from 4 pm to 7 pm beginning May 12 and running until October 6. Vendors choosing to participate this year should submit their applications by March 1.
Today, consumers are better educated about what they eat and how their food is grown. This has lead to more people buying fresh and buying local to get the most flavorful and nutritional food available. The Farmers Market at Living History Farms will help meet this demand by giving space to local farmers and craftsmen, who provide these local products. All attendees will get a unique educational opportunity through demonstrations about local food and craftsmanship. Live music will round out this summertime, community event.
Vendors interested in participating should hurry because applications are only accepted until March 1 and space is limited. Seasonal stalls cost $120.00 and a limited number of weekly stalls are available for $10.00 per week. Visit www.livinghistoryfarm.org/farmersmarket.html to download your application and vendor guide.
