Salisbury House Foundation Announced new staff member

02/23/2010

Des Moines - The Salisbury House Foundation was joined in February by a new staff member, Sarah Behounek, in the role of Annual Fundraising Program Manager.  Sarah will have a large role in growing the Salisbury House Foundation membership base, but her experience will allow her to help in many areas of fundraising.

Sarah holds a B.A. in History from the University of Northern Iowa and an M.A. in History from the University of Iowa.  She has worked at Iowa museums (Cedar Falls Historical Society, Grout Museum of Science in Waterloo, University of Northern Iowa Museum, and Johnson County Historical Society in Iowa City) as well as the Heard Museum in Phoenix where she was their Membership Coordinator.  Originally planning a career in museum curation, Sarah found she prefers the people-oriented focus on fundraising and development.

Director of Development Marcia Martin is excited about the opportunity to provide stronger and better services to members and donors.  She says, “We at Salisbury House & Gardens believe our volunteers and donors are the most important people here.  Sarah will give us another opportunity to provide for their needs.  I know everyone will welcome her and make her transition into the Salisbury family a rewarding experience.
