This workshop is intended for museum collections staff that want behind the scenes insight into collections storage techniques and storage areas. Attendees will tour collections storage areas of the host museum and discuss the various issues Iowa museums experience in their collections storage areas before reviewing tools and procedures.

Learning Objectives.  Participants will:
1.       Learn basic collections storage procedures for objects, textiles, and framed objects.
2.       Evaluate sources and resources for tools and archival containers used in collections storage
3.       Evaluate the use of everyday containers for collections storage.
4.       Determine the best tools and containers for their particular needs and create a shopping list, budget, and budget justification.
