IMA Conference Scholarships

Each year the Iowa Museum Association offers three scholarships for individuals attending the IMA Annual Meeting and Conference for the first time.  The scholarships cover the items included in the all-inclusive conference registration fee.

Scholarship recipients are responsible for their own lodging during the conference, travel, and any extra activities they wish to attend.

CRITERIA:
1.  Applicants for the scholarship must be attending the annual IMA conference for the first time.
2. Applicants for the scholarship must work as an employee, volunteer, or board member at a non-profit art center, museum, botanical garden, arboretum, historic site, zoo, historical society, or science center located within the state of Iowa; OR
be enrolled as a student in a degree program involving any of the above fields of study.

HOW TO APPLY:
Submit a one-page letter stating how attendance at the conference will benefit your professional development or institution.  Letters of application should be e-mailed as an attachment to the Iowa Museum Association.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  July 15.
Selected recipients will be notified by September 1.

FOLLOW-UP
Following the conference, the selected recipients will each write a brief article about their conference experience for publication in an issue of IMAges newsletter.  Article is due by December 1st via e-mail to  Iowa Museum Association.
