The Blanden Art Museum is looking for an Art Educator / Assistant Director to help support the museum mission and vision – developing high quality art education programming.

Description
Responsible for the development of quality art
education programming and experiences that inform, inspire, and activate
creativity for the community and region. Manages and maintains appearance and
organization of the classroom and the safety of program participants. Provides
excellent customer service to visitors, volunteers, program participants and
the public. Maintains regular office hours Tuesday through Saturday. Additional
hours may be necessary in response to special events or circumstances.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s degree in an art related field such as art education
or studio arts.
·
Must have at least 3 years of teaching experience in the area of
art education in a classroom setting.
·
Experience working with students of all ages (children, teens,
and adults).
·
Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements
of the City of Fort Dodge motor vehicle policy.
Preferred qualifications
·
A state teaching certificate with 5+ years of experience in a
public or private school system.
·
Masters of Arts degree.
·
Be a practicing artist of record.
·
Higher educational instruction experience.
