The Kinney Pioneer Museum, Mason City, Iowa is hiring a Director and Assistant Director. The Kinney Pioneer Museum is open for visitors May through September, Tuesday through Saturday in the afternoon with tours by appointment. The museum’s focus on the history of North Iowa covers agriculture to hairdressing to the Colby Car Company and Harry’s Sweet Shop.

 The successful candidates will have an interest in history and/or education. The job responsibilities for both positions include:
         Monitoring the day-to-day activity at the museum 
         Creating and refreshing the exhibits
         Clear email communication, word processing programs
         Welcoming visitors
         Organizing special events
          Off season planning
          Community engagement through social media
          Coordinating volunteers
          Accounting of cash for daily admission fees

The Director position is 24 hours a week with scheduled hours Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00pm  to 5:00 pm, from April through September. October through March is the museum is closed to visitors the Director will work 24 hours per month focusing on tourism development, exhibitions planning and outreach.  The director will also be responsible for managing staff and volunteers, and making reports to the board.

The Assistant Director is a seasonal position, April through September working 15 hours a week, with scheduled hours between Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00,
