The Iowa Museum Association has five projects listed on the Future Ready Iowa Clearinghouse website:  https://wbl.futurereadyiowa.gov/listings

These projects support Iowa museums by underscoring the role of museums as educational partners.  The projects outline activities that utilize primary sources in museum collections, and encourage students to explore, hypothesize, question, and draw conclusions.  The projects encourage students to engage with local museums through exploration and research and encourage teachers to use local museums for inquiry based education.

Project outcomes vary, but emphasize core skills such as reading, writing, assessing information and drawing conclusions.  Some of the projects may support the Teaching Iowa History project, with the permission of the museum involved.  Projects direct students to a wide variety of Iowa museums including art, history, science and children's museums.

Through activities such as this, the IMA advocates for broader understanding of the important roles played by Iowa museums as stewards, educators, and community anchors.
