Have the tools needed to conduct impactful community listening sessions, ensuring you engage authentically and effectively with the voices that matter most.  Learn how to create a welcoming environment, ask the right questions, and use what you hear to drive meaningful change. February 17.  Sensory Safe Spaces. The Science Center of Iowa is an exciting place, bustling with sights and sounds... but we provide a quieter, less crowded experience. Families with children on the autism spectrum or children with sensory processing disorders will enjoy exploring the Science Center of Iowa with the help of Sensory Guide signage, which indicates audio, visual and activity stimuli. Join SCI for this IMA Plugged-In session to learn more about our journey in supporting these families.

March 17.  TBA.

April 21.  Partnering to Provide Access.  Jeff Kiley, Advantage Archives.  Free access to history is critical for fostering a well-informed, engaged, and cohesive community. Strong community-based partnerships open the doors to a unified portal to the documents and historical records that hold the accounts of the community’s past in one easy and practical-to-access collective collection. This ensures that anyone, regardless of their location, financial situation, or ability to physically access the resources, can explore and benefit from our collective history without risking the original materials. Access allows individuals to explore their heritage, understand the past, and draw connections to the present.  However, providing such access is a complex task that requires meaningful collaborations that enable resource sharing, enhance accessibility, and engage the community. Through diverse partnerships, we digitize, preserve, and disseminate historical records, making them accessible to all.

May 19  Storytelling and Interpretation Resources.  Dr. Terri Donofrio and Alexa Fulgencio.
